Last month I hit up that secret Japanther show on the Williamsburg Bridge. Followed by a roof top soire. The sparks were flowing that dreams were coming true! So we investigated this show to the extent of the law? wait that dosen't make any sense. eveeverythiing about that show was illegal. moving on! Here's some pics. it was too crowded to really see the band and it was a miracle that we didn't get arrested! success. Then people realized they could shimmy up the construction equiptment. this was about the time we decided it was best to bounce to the roof top party. Then the cops busted up that party! WTF?! some kid we were with was sketched out b/c he has warrents, so when the cops came up to tell us all to leave, he started to shimmy down the fire escape?! way to call attention to yourself! then the cops were all "HEY YOU ON TEH FIRE ESCAPE! GO DOWN THE STAIRS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!" haha. classic! Anyway that sparks gave me a tummy ache. Saturday AM fail!
So some of my old friends from pre-NYC timez may recall my Terry Symetry that I cruised around Bloomington Indiana on and turned some heads. I bought my fledgling young bike w/ me to NYC and rode it around for about six months before I got hit by a car! (see myspace blog for the details on that debacle). That was two years ago and that car accident JACKED UP my terry. But the frame remained structurally intact (dispite the disrepect is suffered at the hands of a AM New Jersey commuter). So I kept the frame and vowed that when I had a little bit of money to spare the Terry would be restored to her former glory and returned to the streets where she belongs! So a few months ago with some spare money and time I got the Terry the face lift/botox/tummy tuck she needed and dang she's a beaut! I got the frame a hot new paint job at Chelsea bikes and built into a single speed. Yes thats glitter in the paint. Very expensive toe clip straps. dang people will spend retarded amounts of money on stupid little accessories for their bikes if they come from japan. I am living proof of that. The last thing i am waiting on is this Selle Italia LDY Gel flow White saddle and my steed will be complete.
The guy built me some wheels w/ surly hubs and velocity rims. You might not be able to see in the pic, but the bike has a 24" front and a 700c back wheel so it looks CRAZY. I already splurged on the basket that perfectly fits a six pack of beer. Let the good times roll!
So I have been a really bad blogger, I have been slacking on the job! However while i have not been blogging I have reallocated my blogging time for other exciting activities to blog about. Let that blow your mind.
Heres a cute picture of me so you won't be salty! look at the cute pic and let it wash away your feelings of blogging abandonment!Let me just use the word blog one more time.....blog. k im done. let the blogging begin!
(This is totally a belated post, but i just got the internet at my apt.) But i digress, SO soraya decided to take me out and show me a nice time GNO style for the Bust Magazine 15th Anniversary Party. We got totally dolled up and hit up a gypsy cab over to the Lower East Side. Our taxi driver was a Dominican lady, w/ starkly Dolce and Gabanna glasses. She was super rad and sassy. So she drove us over to the South Side Sea Port where they were having the party. We hit up Macdonald's before entering the party and had some value mealz. The whole Mcdonalds was full of teenage boys, and Soraya and I looked HOT! They were freaking out!haha, i was like, must be time for the kids to get back to schooL! they are acting like they haven't seen any pretty girls in months! After the fried fortitude, we rolled over to the party. As soon as we got there we couldn't really find where the party was, then i saw a girl w/ ironic bangs and glasses, i was like follow that hipster! luckily she lead us right to the spot! (How pretty is soraya? OOC!)p.s. notice the empty glasses....that was the theme of the evening. Having empty glasses and getting them refilled.) NEwho, after we got a drink it was time to immediatly get into a huge line to get into the tent where they were having the entertainment. While in the tent we talked/hung out w/ SIA and JD Samson from LA TIGRE?! They totally were laughing at our jokes! So exciting! i can't take celebrity sightings let alone interactions! Anyway we were like gushing all night b/c we were peeping out all these really cool feminist celebs! Amy Sedaris was hosting the shin dig and that ironic sweater lady Lesie Hall was there w/ her rap group. It was pretty entertainting to watch, then (i think she might be soraya's idol? so we got a pic w/ her after!)
after all the celebrity sitings and merryment i was pretty pooped/totally drunk. Plus can i just say (this is a major achievment as a grown ass woman) i made it my first whole night out w/ my high heeled shoes on! YEA! don't worry about it!
all in all that was the funnest night ever and i totally woke up w/ a tummy ache and wore my make up from the night before to work the next dat! scandal alert!
So when i signed the lease to my new apartment, I was under the impression that we had access to the roof. However there is a grouchy old lady that has bought the roof? You can do that? And she won't let me put my plants on her roof (where she keeps her plants) DUh. So i had to move my plants down from the saftey of the roof down to the front of my house. Fast forward to one month later! All but two of my plants are fucking stolen! Im so salty right now about this that i can't even take it. I know i live in the ghetto, but seriously? I have to chain down my almost dead tomato plant and my def dead zucchini? Like someone please tell me what good that is going to do you other than to totally bum me out and make me loose faith in humanity. So much for my experiment in Urban Gardening, i guess if i want to have a nice garden im going to have to move again or get a plot at a community garden. Welcome to the jungle!
Some serious festivities went down at my house on Saturday. We were warming out house/celebrating Pete's bday. Here's some of the highlights! Here's come of the guests enjoying the snacks and dranks.
The party sort of took an interesting downward turn towards the end of the evening that consisted of eliot putting the kitten in different interesting kitchen items. hmmm not sure how i feel about the blender, but the oven mitt can't be denied! (ESCAPE DUPREE! RUN AWAY!!! p.s. remind me to wash that out. ew.) OH SHIT. Here is dupree escaping out of eliot's pocket. but it was really adoreable before he busted out! Overall the party was a total success! i scored a nice house plant, a broken home depot tote bag, and a bouquet of flores! not to mention frankensenze and murr. jk!
