Urban Gardening Attempt

Photobucket
So I have attempted to expand my two plant operation into a more impressive little window/rooftop garden. I have been tending to these flowers in my house, and then i have a little bucket vegetable garden on my room featuring tomatoes, squash, zucchini, with guest appearances by some sweet basil plants. So far so good, i have been keeping everything watered, but the effing 100 degree weather is not helping the situation. the tomato plants are already "fruiting" so im feeling optimistic about this undertaking. im just trying to stay up on the game so we can feast come this harvest season and i can pretend like its back in the day and i don't live in the hood.

on a side note, (somewhat related to gardening and plants) i think some teenagers threw a jack-o-lantern into the empty lot next to my apartment last Halloween and there seems to be some volunteer pumpkins growing in there. unfortunately there are signs every where around the lot warning of rat poison. yay! rat poison pumpkin pie! brooklyn is so wholesome. ill try to get some pictures of the roof top plants up soon for your enjoyment!

second side note: i found the wooden plant table (pictured below) on my street and i refinished it with some varnish. i think its looking pretty sharp, and made for a super fun saturday project.
