GARDEN FAIL!

So when i signed the lease to my new apartment, I was under the impression that we had access to the roof. However there is a grouchy old lady that has bought the roof? You can do that? And she won't let me put my plants on her roof (where she keeps her plants) DUh. So i had to move my plants down from the saftey of the roof down to the front of my house. Fast forward to one month later! All but two of my plants are fucking stolen! Im so salty right now about this that i can't even take it. I know i live in the ghetto, but seriously? I have to chain down my almost dead tomato plant and my def dead zucchini? Like someone please tell me what good that is going to do you other than to totally bum me out and make me loose faith in humanity. So much for my experiment in Urban Gardening, i guess if i want to have a nice garden im going to have to move again or get a plot at a community garden. Welcome to the jungle!

House Warming Party.

Some serious festivities went down at my house on Saturday. We were warming out house/celebrating Pete's bday. Here's some of the highlights!

The party sort of took an interesting downward turn towards the end of the evening that consisted of eliot putting the kitten in different interesting kitchen items. hmmm not sure how i feel about the blender, but the oven mitt can't be denied!

Overall the party was a total success! i scored a nice house plant, a broken home depot tote bag, and a bouquet of flores! not to mention frankensenze and murr. jk!

Super Fun Bike Pal Adventures.

So the bike gang im in called the Super Fun Bike Pals consists of me and eliot this gang mostly consisted of riding bikes to the video saloon in bloomington. However we reserected the NYC chapter and we decided to bike out to the country and to venture out into the dirty jerse. (We had been planning this ride all week however i still went out danceing until 4 am. EEK!) anyway, i got up at 8 and we got cracking! First thing in the AM: Here we go!

we stopped and got some snacks at the bodega and eliot got clotheslined by the Associated market by a rouge block party set up crew! WTF?! KIDS: take this as a warning that biking in brooklyn means as any minute crazy opsticals jump out at you. So wear a helmut! (look how cute we look in ours!) NEWAYS he suvided and we pressed on. It was a scortcher and pretty humid, (notice the ever present dewy film on our face pieces).




We took the west side highway bike path up to the GW bridge and the bridge over to the dirty Jersey. Interstatial biking...don't worry about it!

Once we got over to New Jersey we went into this crazy park and rode bikes for ten minutes down this HUGE hill, knowing the whole time we would have to ride back up! eek! anyway once we got down to the bottom, eliot celebrated this way:

Harvest Time!!

Here's the fruits of my labors, These got picked a few weeks ago, but shit has been crazy w/ all of the moving excitment! NEWAYZ Here's some pics of my tomato harvest!




Im def gardening next summer too! It for sure brings a sense of pride, and gets you back in touch w/ your inner crunchy! My crop also yielded one very small but suptle squash (so far) Stay tunned for further harvest details!

Meet Dupree the cat. I got him to keep Beans company, she was starting to look really SALTAY with me when I moved her into an apartment w/o any other pets. SO this is the end result.



Another part of the plan is that dupree is going to shake up beans' world and get her to run around again and play. home girl is getting SLOVENLY. Anyway, thats it for getting new pets. Im officially stocked up over here, so you don't have to make any crazy cat lady jokes. my allergies wouldn't allow that sort of lifestyle...don't worry about!
